Add Contacts to a Campaign Based on Boolean Logic (AND, OR, NOT)
You can now add groups of tagged contacts into campaigns based on Boolean Logic.
Essentially, this further lets you control and segment which groups of contacts should or should not be in a specific messaging campaign.
You can control this through using typical boolean operators 'AND' 'OR' 'NOT' statements.
For instance let's say you've previously tagged all existing clients in your Connect 365 account as 'Clients'.
And for an upcoming promotion you want to make sure to not send this message to anyone tagged as a client.
With Boolean Tagging when creating your campaign you can tell the system to send this to any contact with the tag 'Real Estate Agents' OR 'Financial Advisors' NOT 'Clients.'
This would mean that anyone tagged as a Real Estate Agent or Financial Advisor in your system should be added to the campaign UNLESS they also had the tag 'Clients.'
In the above example this follows the same approach as the example written previously with some different Tag names.
Anyone with the 'All Contacts Have This' or 'Team Members' tags will be included. But the people with the 'Don't Message - Pat's Contacts' tag would be excluded.
Whenever you are choosing the tags to include or exclude, a list of applicable contacts should be shown to you.
You can also keep things simpler if you don't have any exclusions and choose to require applicable contacts to have All the tags in a line or Any of the tags on one line.
And statements require that a contact have both tags on their record in order to be included in the campaign.
To add more lines to your equation, simply click the 'Add' button to create new lines for your Boolean equation.
Want to remove a line of boolean logic?
Just click the minus sign to the right of any of the added lines to remove it. (You can also click the 'X' by the individual tag name to remove a tag from the equation.
