HOW TO REVIEW YOUR POST STATISTICS

Social media marketing is all about driving more awareness and building relationships.

With Emphatic you are now able to get more insights into what's working best so that you can more effectively update your content strategy or make edits to your posts.

Each of the 3 social media tools we auto-post to (LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter) have different rules regarding which stats they will share through their API.

In this article, we are going to break down how to view stats on your posts as well as the specifics of what each platform will allow.

We will also examine 2 distinct options you have for looking at your stats.

Individual Post Stats

First up, let's take a look at how to review stats for each individual post written through Emphatic.

This can give you a good sense of what's got your audience buzzing and the awareness you are building amongst your audience.

To view stats from any individual batch, first, navigate to your 'Batches' > 'History'.

From here you can open up any batch by clicking on the 'Stats' icon to the right of any batch.

Statistic Definitions:

Impressions - The number of times people saw your posts.

Clicks - The number of link clicks your post received. This number includes any link clicks, including posts with multiple links, or multiple clicks by one user. It includes any link that takes a user away from Facebook.

Comments - The number of comments on your post(s).

Engagement - The percentage of impressions that resulted in an engagement (total number of comments, clicks, shares, and reactions divided by the number of impressions). This is organic data only (organic clicks and organic impressions). Paid metrics are not included.

Reactions - The number of reactions to your post.

(LinkedIn's 'Reaction' icons)

Shares - The number of times your post was shared.

Notice for All Platforms

  1. Data isn't collected in real-time. Instead we gather the information in batches from each social network's API. In some cases, it can take up to 24 hours for new post data to be populated.
  2. If your social media account is disconnected, your latest data won’t be populating, so you’ll want to get that connection reestablished by following the steps here.

Facebook

  1. Due to limitations in their API, we are only able to pull statistical information for Facebook pages that have more than 100 followers. You are still able to connect a Facebook page for posting if it has less than 100 followers. However, no statistical data will be present.
  2. Statistic data will take up to 24 hours to populate.
  3. Six months of Facebook data is backfilled when you connect your account for posts you have previously published with Emphatic. This could result in data for previous periods appearing lower than in Facebook Insights. Let’s say your Facebook account was connected on June 1, 2022. We’d go back and pull statistics for any posts you've made with Emphatic to your Facebook platform starting from December 31, 2021.

Facebook can display each of the stats defined above (Impressions, Clicks, Comments, Engagement, Reactions, Shares)

LinkedIn

If you are publishing from a Company page, you will have a deeper set of statistics you can view. But due to limitations from the LinkedIn API for a Personal page, the statistics they allow you to view outside of their platform are limited.

Those include Reactions and Comments.

NOTE: We have also included an option to allow you to be taken to a more in-depth look at the number of Views or Impressions on your posts live on LinkedIn by clicking the option highlighted in the screengrab below.

Twitter

  1. 28 days of Twitter data is backfilled when you connect your account for posts you have previously published with Emphatic. This could result in data for previous periods appearing lower. Let’s say your Twitter account was connected on June 1, 2022. We can go back and pull statistics for any posts you've made with Emphatic to your Twitter platform starting from May 3, 2022.
  2. Due to limitations in the API at this time you can only view Reactions (Heart symbol) and Shares (Retweets).

Account Statistics Dashboard

Your Account Statistics Dashboard is a summary of ALL your Emphatic posts statistics broken down by platform.

This is the overview of everything combined into one overall view and can be found under the menu option of 'Statistics.'

This will only be pulling in statistics from updates you have posted with the help of Emphatic.

The rules from the above platforms still apply regarding which statistics are allowed to be displayed.
